In the current era, technology is a thing that can not be separated from daily human activities. The growth of technology must also be accompanied by education of technology to we as users, by having technology education, we can utilize the technology well, have control over the technology and can not be driven by technology. Therefore educational technology is a necessary thing.

In junior high through high school, there are lessons of IT as one of educational technology to learn the basics of the technology or the introduction of the technology. especially the ways of computing and its application in cyberspace or the internet. Such as lessons on how to use Microsoft Office generally on Windows and make an e-mail, blogs and so forth.

Technology education is also needed to understand how humans should treat technology as a user. That the technology was created to help people work. So it is a wrong thing if technology is used for criminal acts, especially in the internet that we call cybercrime.

Majoring in communication science, there are ICT (Integrated Communication Technology) courses are an educational technology to learn that technology has the power to influence human culture, so human as the user should be able to control these forces.

So, educational technology is a necessity in this era. Not just so we understand how to use it but also how we treat it as a medium to assist the work of man.
